久々に最近の様子を更新します。
We've been so busy recently, I haven't updated this blog at all...
It's been a while, but here is a bit about some recent events.
まず、9月に最近驚いたこと１つ目！
ベジタリアンミート！！
With September began my second year here in Canada!
There are still lots of new things that surprise me...
One such thing that I seem to keep coming across lately:
Vegetarian meat!!
The picture above is of a sweet and sour chicken dish I ordered at a vegetarian restaurant Steve took me to for lunch on my birthday! It looked, tasted, and even had the same texture as chicken!
Tofu and other ingredients are used to make it similar to chicken - it was really delicious(*^_^*)
Steveはチキンタイカレーを頼みましたが、私のチキンよりもうちょっと弾力がある歯ごたえでしたが、またこれもこれでおいしかったです(*^_^*)
Steve had the Chicken Thai Curry, which was even better!
ベジタリアン・ミートなんてどんなものかも予想もつきませんでしたが、本当にとってもおいしかったです。肉っぽいから美味しいというコメントから、すでにベジタリアンではないな・・という感じですが、今後スーパーに買い物に言ったら肉を買う代わりにこのベジタリアン・ミートを買いたいと思うほどの物でした。
I'm not sure how well words and pictures can describe this vegetarian meat, but it really was delicious! Of course, the fact that I judge it to be delicious because it is so similar to meat stands as proof that I am not a vegetarian myself. But I liked it so much that I've decided that the next time I go to the supermarket, I'm going to buy some vegetarian meat.
このレストランを教えてくれたのはKarinaです(*^_^*)Karinaからこのレストランで有名なのはベジタリアン・ジンジャー・ビーフ（Vegetarian ginger beef：牛肉の生姜炒め）と聞きました☆今度行った時はそれを頼んでみようと思います!(^^)!
Karina was the one who suggested this restaurant to us. She told us how it was famous for its vegetarian ginger beef. I am looking forward to trying it the next time we go there.
誕生日の日のランチのことを書いたので、その日の晩ご飯も紹介します！
Steveは家族を招待して、日本食のレストランに連れて行ってくれました。
Now that I've written about my birthday lunch, let's move on to my birthday dinner!
Steve invited his family to join us at a great Japanese restaurant.
カナダの日本食レストランでは何が出るのかな～というところですが、やっぱり寿司、天ぷら、刺身、弁当、焼き肉などなどを頼んで食べました(*^_^*)
For those of you wondering what kind of things are on the menu at a Japanese restaurant in Canada: of course there is Sushi, Tempura, Sashimi, Bento, BBQ'd meat, and more! (we ordered a bit of everything and had a great meal!(*^_^*)
この日はみんなに誕生日を祝ってもらって、とっても幸せでした。またたくさんの友達、家族からお祝いの温かいメッセージなどなどもいただいて感無量でした！！
こんなに祝福してもらえたのも最近びっくりしたことの１つでした(*^_^*)いいびっくりです(*^_^*)
I was so thrilled that everyone celebrated my birthday! Lots of friends and family sent me many warm birthday greetings! I was overjoyed!
ちょっと時差がありますが、誕生日と言えば・・・
私と2日違いの誕生日のAnnちゃん！AnnちゃんはSteveのいとこです☆その誕生日の様子も写真にしてお届けします♪
This was on a different day, but while on the topic of Birthdays...
Steve's cousin Ann has a birthday 2 days after mine! Here are some pictures from her birthday as well♪
例年どおり、家族みんなで集まってAnnちゃんの誕生日を祝いました！
3段重ねのチョコレートケーキ・・・すごいですねぇ・・・！！！甘い物好きの人にはたまらない一品だそうです(*^_^*)
As we did last year, the whole family got together to celebrate!! That 3 layer chocolate cake is sure something, isn't it!? For those with a sweet tooth, it is a huge treat!
9月のことを書きましたが、来週の月曜日10月31日はハロウィーンです。またその様子も更新します！！
So that pretty much covers September, but next week it will be October 31st! Lots more to write about!
