▼引っ越しした時の車の写真があると思ったら、全然撮っていませんでした。が、１つだけありました。遠くに私たちの車が見えますか？その後ろに、トレーラーをひっつけてバンクーバーまで引いてきました。I thought we had a picture of our car on our move...but it seems we didn't take any! ...well, except for this one. Can you spot our car way over there, across the pond (literally!). We hitched a rental trailer behind our car and busted a move to Vancouver!
▼ロッキーを越えて隣の州、ブリティッシュ・コロンビア（ＢＣ）州に行きました。もうお馴染み？の山の風景です。Over the Rockies we went to the neighbouring province: British Columbia. Is this becoming a familiar sight for you guys as well?

▼バンクーバーには運転して行くには1泊しないといけません。途中のClearwaterという街で私たちは泊まりました。その時の夕食と朝食の写真です。とってもおいしかったです(*^_^*)
It takes more than a day to drive to Vancouver, so you have to stop somewhere overnight. We stopped for the night in a little town called Clearwater. Here are pictures of our delicious dinner that night and breakfast the next morning (*^_^*)
▼Kamloopsというエリアに行くと、風景が一転変わって、乾燥地帯になります。
As we reached area around Kamloops, the scenery drastically changes to a band of arid land.

| この川の名前が分りませんが、展望スペースからの景色はとってもきれいでした。 I don't recall the name of this river, but the view from this observation area was breathtaking! |

| 川沿いに長～い貨物列車が走っていて、ところどころで車と横になって走るのでそれもまた楽しかったです。 I spotted a loooong freight train chugging along the river side. Now and again we'd find ourselves driving along parallel to the train - it was great! |

| 雨の後で、水かさが上がっていました。後で、もっと雨が降って洪水になった地域もありました。 After heavy rain, the water level rose. Later on, it rained even more and there was some flooding and a landslide. |

| カナダで初！のトンネルでした！（＾＾） This was my first tunnel in Canada! （＾＾） |

| この辺りの地形から、川の流れがとても早いことで有名なエリアです。川の反対側に行くのにゴンドラが出ていました。昔はここのエリアを超えるのが難しく亡くなった人も多かったということで、心霊スポットしてもテレビが来たことがあるそうです。 Because of the extreme topographical characteristics in this area, this point in the river is known for its fast, rushing currents. There is a gondola that shuttles tourists above the rapids and over to the other side of the river. Long ago, it was difficult for people to pass through this area and many people died trying. We learned that it has it's fair share of ghost stories and has been the subject of a few t.v. shows. |

There was a famous old bridge in this area, so we pulled off the road to go have a look.

| 木材もたくさん浮いています。これはバンクーバーで良く見ます。 There were a lot of logs floating in the water. This is a common sight in Vancouver. |

| New Westminsterは私たちにとってバンクーバーの入口になりました。この橋が印象的です。 For us, New Westminster was our entrance way into Vancouver. This bridge is a popular landmark. |
▼これが6月20日くらいのことです。これから7月1日入居を目指してアパート探しをしたわけですが、それまでの間は、Walk for Japanの時もお世話になった（あ、これまでブログにあげてません(>_<)）、スティーブのお父さんのお友達パットさんとダレルさんのところにお世話になりました。
This was around June 20th. We began our search for apartments hoping we'd find a place to move into by the beginning of July. During this time, we stayed with Pat and Derril - friends of the Johnson who also hosted us last year at the end of the Walk for Japan. (oh no! I don't think I ever posted any pictures of our stay with them last year!)

We had such great and wonderfully warm support from Pat and Derril that we were eventually able to find an apartment!

| アパートもぜーんぶ掃除して、それから荷物を入れて・・・と、今思えば結構がんばりました。 We cleaned the entire apartment, then we moved our stuff in...looking back on it, we really did our best. |
Our first night in our apartment we made Japanese Curry! Curry is really convenient, isn't it!?

| リビングにランプを買うまではキャンドルで夜は過ごしたものです。それもなかなか素敵だなぁっと思いました。 Until we were able to buy a lamp for our living area, we dined by candlelight. I thought it was quite lovely. |

After the festival, Andy and Jaime took us to an American southern-style BBQ restaurant. (*^_^*)Holy MEAT!

| その後はみんなで花火も見に行きました。これはイタリアの日でした☆ After dinner we all watched the fireworks together. It was Italy's night☆ |
Here is also the location of the annual Pride Parade. It is a really lively event and it is interesting to see each participating group's message. For example, many groups and organizations from across the community promote freedom and equality for gay rights.

On the final day of Steve's parents' visit we headed out to Richmond for a visit and dinner at Pat and Derril's. First, we went and had a look around the old Japanese fishing village of Steveston.
It was Howard and Derril's first time to see each other since 1986 (^.^)
